The Stanford Super Series is a yearly Twenty20 cricket tournament sponsored by billionaire, Sir Allen Stanford. This year’s competition sees Middlesex, Trinidad and Tobago, the England national team and Stanford Superstars compete in a series of Twenty20 matches, with the finale being a winner-takes-all match between England and a Caribbean all-star team called the Stanford Superstars! Betfair and Skybet are also upping the ante, by giving away free bets up to the value of £20.

The Stanford Super Series sees the four teams compete in a Round Robin format, with each side playing each other once. Trinidad claimed their place as Stanford 20/20 champions, a tournament created to promote Twenty20 cricket in the West Indies. Middlesex earned their place in the competition by becoming the English Twenty20 champions in 2007.

The Stanford Superstars were picked by a selection panel including Sir Everton Weekes, Curtly Ambrose, Courtney Walsh and Lance Gibbs. The squad of 17 will face England on November 1 at 2130 GMT in the main game of the series. Each of the players in the starting 11 will receive $1m, with a further $1 split between the six unused players in the squad! Life changing money for some of the players from smaller nations!
